Bagh is a traditional Indian handcraft originating in Bagh, Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The process is characterized by hand printed wood block relief prints with naturally sourced pigments and dyes. Bagh print motifs are typically geometric, paisley, or floral compositions design, dyed with vegetable colors of red and black over a white background. Its name is derived from the village Bagh located on the banks of the Baghini river. Bagh is one of the clusters where natural pigments are extensively used for dyeing . Madder root for red and Iron ore based pigments for black . A heritage craft for sure !
