Venkatagiri Silk Cotton

Venkatagiri,  a small town in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh , used to be a weaving hub for the royal families of the Vijayanagar empire. The weaving clusters of Venkatgiri produce fine cotton sarees and gorgeous silks and silk cottons. Interestingly,  the cluster also is engaged in weaving Uppada sarees when the demand for Uppada increases.

Venkatagiri sarees are fine, soft, light, and regal and is a very comfortable weave in the hottest of summers !
