This beautiful Udupi 60 count cotton saree is handwoven in a beautiful sea blue body with borders . The saree body has stunning mid-size checks that complement beautifully with the saree body . The pallu features the traditional vertical stripes.
Udupi Sarees originated in the mid of 1800s, and are known for their durability and comfort specifically suited to the TuluNad region . These sarees are known for using the best quality combed cotton yarn of count ’80s & ’60s, the yarns are dyed using Vat dyes and woven on a strong fly shuttle loom known as “Malabar loom“, These Sarees are famous for its luster and color-fastness property due to its dyeing quality & technique.
A unique Practice of applying starch to the warp in order to strengthen and protect the yarn from abrasion is unique to Udupi cotton sarees.
