SILK MARK CERTIFIED
Some sarees are worn, and some are inherited. This one is made to be passed down.
Woven on the handlooms of Banaras in a deep, majestic red, it has a satin finish with a luminous depth that moves like liquid silk. The drape is fluid and the sheen is soft, and you can feel the weight of real craftsmanship in it.
It is crafted in the ektara weave, a technique held in high regard among Banarasi masters for its exceptional precision. It asks for hours of patience at the loom and a weaver's complete attention, the kind of skill that cannot be rushed or replicated by machine. Ektara, or "ek taar", means "one thread," and it is among the oldest and most refined weaving traditions of Banaras. Often likened to fine needlepoint, it produces a delicate fabric with a mesh-like structure that resists creasing, and it was once known as the fabric of royalty. Built on a single-thread foundation, the weave is prized for being light yet durable. It is woven on a traditional pit loom with multiple heddle shafts, known as the gethua loom, using a five-treadle method called paanch kaadhi. The weaver has to coordinate every pass by hand with complete precision. It is slow, demanding work that cannot be rushed or replicated by machine, and the result is a fabric of rare fineness and quiet strength
The borders are a work of art. Meenakari detailing sets jewel-toned threads within the zari, gleaming like enamel in heirloom jewellery. On the pallu, that artistry unfolds in full, rich and resplendent, an ending worthy of the saree.
Created for the bride, for the grand celebration and for the moments that become memories, this is a saree for those who know the difference. It is understated in its confidence and unmistakable in its craft.
