SILK MARK CERTIFIED
Peacocks have graced Banarasi weaves for generations, a motif of beauty and celebration. This saree brings that vintage charm to a deep lavender body, a rich purple with a soft, dusky warmth. Peacock buttis in silver and gold zari are scattered all over it, and the twin metals glow against the muted tone with a subtle, regal elegance.
The saree is woven on a handloom in Banaras in the kadhua technique, one of the most exacting Banarasi weaves. The weaver creates every peacock separately by hand, working the zari through that motif alone instead of carrying it across the full width. It's slow, skilled work. Each butti comes out crisp and raised, and the reverse is clean, with no loose floats. That is the true mark of kadhua.
Both edges carry a floral zari border that frames the saree in fine blossoms. The pallu then blooms into a rich, dressy spread of floral zari, for a finish full of old-world grandeur.
Graceful and quietly opulent, this saree is made for festive evenings, weddings and celebrations, and it's an heirloom to treasure for years.
